I recently contacted the state rep and state senator for my area regarding the attempted state smoking ban for Indiana. I was able to pretty much send both guys the same letter with a few tweeks, that makes contacting these morons a bit easier and less time consuming.
Randy Borror, State Representative for the 84th District
Dear Mr. Borror,
This email is regarding the attempted smoking ban for the entire state of Indiana. I have one word to say: don't. I live in a city with a fascist smoking ban. When the city council passed it, supporters were removed from office the following election—keep that in mind.
I am not a smoker and find the odor of it repugnant. But it is my choice to frequent places where smoking is not allowed by the property owner. It is the business owner's right to control his own property. Keep your nanny state out of it! This state already has far too many insanely restrictive and controlling laws. It's time to stop!
Be a representative not a big brother and stand against all intrusive and right’s restricting laws which come your way.
Thank you for your time.

Dennis Kruse, State Senator for the 14th District
Dear Mr. Kruse,
This email is regarding the attempted smoking ban for the entire state of Indiana. If this crazy bill makes it to the Senate, I have one word to say: don't. I live in a city with a fascist smoking ban. When the city council passed it, supporters were removed from office the following election—keep that in mind.

As a Senator you are suppose to be a representative not a big brother, so stand against all intrusive and right’s restricting laws which come your way.
Thank you for your time.

I received a reply from the State Senator:
Dear Matthew,
Thank you for your email regarding smoking ban. I believe that it is up to the business
owner to decide whether or not to allow smoking in their business. Thank you for your
email and if you have any future concerns, please write.
Dennis K. Kruse
State Senator
Mr. Kruse sent another reply--interesting:
Matthew Evans,
I believe that private business owners have the right to decide weather smoking is allowed on their property or not. However, I believe it is possible to create a smoke free environment in publicly owned buildings.
